Multi-Tier Architecture

The weblicon PIM has been built on a multi-tier architecture to support high scalability through load-balancing and high availability through redundancy. The HTTP Client tier communicates with the HTTP Server tier which routes incoming requests to the Application Server tier. The Application Server tier connects to the Database Server tier consisting of RDBMS, LDAP and IMAP Servers. All tiers can be scaled individually by building clusters of servers for load-balancing and high redundancy.
