HTML Server

The HTML server of the weblicon PIM can be accessed via a secure connection using the standard SSL protocol. In order to use SSL, a server-side certificate has to be installed in the HTTP server accessing the weblicon PIM. No modification of the weblicon PIM application is necessary to support SSL.

WML Server

The WML server of the weblicon PIM currently does not support encrypted transmission of WML content. However, since all communication within the network is under control of the telecommunication company, secure transmission should be at a high level beyond air transmission between the mobile device and the base station.

VoiceXML Server

The VoiceXML server supports SSL for transmission of data between the server and a VoiceXML gateway. In order to use SSL, a server-side certificate has to be installed in the HTTP server accessing the weblicon PIM. No modification of the weblicon PIM application is necessary to support SSL.

JAVA Client/Server

The JAVA client currently does not support SSL for transmission of data between the PC client and the server. However, SSL support is planned to be introduced, shortly.

SyncML Client/Server

The SyncML client / server architecture supports secure communication using the SSL protocol and MD5 authentication. Data transmitted between the Weblicon SyncML clients and the SyncML server is encrypted using the SSL standard providing a high level of security.
