Database Neutrality
The WebObjects framework supports complete database abstraction via its Enterprise Objects Framework (EOF) resulting in entirely database-neutral applications. Database abstraction is implemented using a database adaptor architecture responsible for generating SQL requests. The weblicon applications internally use an SQL-independent abstract database access automatically mapping database records and relations to object graphs.
