Weblicon Technology is certified as Ready for GPRS by Ericsson
Ericsson appoints weblicon an Associate Partner
Berlin, 17/08/2001 Ericsson has appointed the Berlin Weblicon Technologies AG company an Ericsson associate partner within the framework of its Mobility World initiative. The Online Organizer of Weblicon Technologies AG was first subjected to thorough tests at the Ericsson laboratory and subsequently certified as GPRS-Compliant.
The Weblicon Online Organizer has mastered all GPRS-critical transmission scenarios without any problem and proves optimally designed for all product lines, such as HTML, WAP or Java-Client, said Juergen Nagel, Partner Manager of Ericsson Mobility World Germany.
Weblicon has specialised in the development of Personal Information Management (PIM) software and equipped E-Plus and KPN Mobile with their technology recently. With the Ericsson certification, Weblicon has now been officially included in the Go-to-Operator program. The Weblicon Organizer has been registered in the worldwide Ericsson Who-is-Who of certified online applications.
Ericsson used the GATE testing environment for the GPRS compatibility test. GATE is based on experience in handling GPRS networks and uses reproducible scenarios. Thus, the performance of the system is also secured in critical situations under extreme stress and with bad data connections. For instance, the GATE test simulates the passing through a tunnel or using an overburdened radio cell.
Weblicons mobile applications have not only stood the test but excelled with the three product lines of HTML-, WAP- und Java-Client .
The Weblicon PIM software may be licensed by portals, service providers and telecommunication companies. With the help of this software, the clients of the licensee may call up and update their personal data from anywhere using WAP, via the Internet, with the worldwide unique JavaCockpit and any SyncML enabled PDA or mobile phone. The Online Organizer offers not only a Group SMS function but also extensive messaging functionality.
The certification by Ericsson and the adoption as an associate partner confirms us in our alignment, said Carsten Brinkschulte and Peter Haas, both board members of Weblicon Technologies AG. We provide our clients with a product that is always compatible with the latest technical possibilities. We are equipped to face the challenges of the third mobile phone generation already today.
