Weblicon enters the market with highly developed Web applications
Berlin, 14th February 2001 – Weblicon Technologies AG, developer of highly scalable Personal Information Management (PIM) software, introduce their first product today. This is an Online Organizer, which may be integrated easily into existing installations as an HTML-, WAP- and Java- Client. Weblicon is offering a highly scalable tool, which is independent of databases – setting new standards in the area of Internet computing. Weblicon are positioning themselves as a pure supplier of technology, concentrating on the development of the core product and the integration of the service into the infrastructure of the licensees. Thus, the company may be regarded as a trailblazer in the newly developing Weblication market.
The Weblicon Online Organizer offers the administration of appointments, tasks and addresses as well as E-mail and SMS functions and is being developed, step by step, into a complete Personal Information Management System, which may take over flight bookings or order flowers to be sent on birthdays automatically. The further development stages comprise notes, bookmarks, fax and E-letter services. The customer ties established through the Organizer are especially attractive for portals and telecommunication companies, who are able to increase the online-time of their users with the help of this service.
The HTML-Client of the Organizer permits access via all types of WebBrowser from any PC with an Internet access, regardless of the operating system. The WAP-Client enables mobile access via any WAP-enabled mobile phone. Weblicon is the only company in the market offering a Java-Client, which represents a true alternative to desktop-programs thanks to its unique user-friendliness.
