Weblicon SyncML Server passes Open Mobile Alliances interoperability tests
July 7, 2003 Weblicon Technologies, a leading provider of wireless synchronization technology for corporate and mobile operators, today announced its participation in the latest Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) Test Fest held in Tampere, Finland. Weblicon Technology successfully tested its SyncML Server 3.0 with OMAs Data Synchronization (DSDM) enabler.
The Weblicon SyncML Server 3.0 successful participation included interoperability testing for both SyncML 1.0.1 and SyncML 1.1.1 tests with more than 10 SyncML clients from various 3rd parties attending the Test Fest. At the event, Weblicon seamlessly synchronized calendar, contacts and tasks with various mobile phone, PC and PDA clients demonstrating true cross-vendor and cross-product interoperability.
OMAs test fests are designed to help member companies reduce costs in development and prevent R&D delays with early issue-detection and resolution. In addition, proving interoperability with other implementations of OMA specifications can help companies expand their markets, and ultimately expedite end-user adoption.
We are very pleased that the Weblicon SyncML Server has had the opportunity to participate in interoperability testing of OMAs DSDM Test, said Carsten Brinkschulte, CEO of Weblicon Technologies AG. We are committed to interoperability, and find the OMAs events to be the most thorough, which helps ensure that our deployment of the Weblicon SyncML Server is in sync with the mobile industrys developments.
Interoperability testing is important for our target customers because interoperable mobile synchronization services are essential for rapid end-user adoption, said Brinkschulte. Our successful completion of the interoperability TEST for DSDM and our participation in the OMA standardization process, underlines our commitment to standards.
In Tampere, Finland, multiple OMA members tested their products with outstanding results said Sanjay Gupta, Interoperability Chair, OMA Technical Plenary. Interoperability testing has two benefits: it can play a decisive role in the success of companies across the mobile value chain; and it furthers OMAs mission to grow the market for the entire mobile industry. At our test fests, OMA members are able to contribute to the success of both.
